Our people

We are caring, passionate and qualified educators who create a fun and inspiring place for your child to spread their wings. We are confident and determined to empower your child’s transformation and growth.

What sets us apart from other childcare centres is the fact that we are a bilingual centre, offering services in English and Italian. We believe that children’s learning is most effective when they voluntarily participate in activities they enjoy. To support this, all activities and programs in our centre are undertaken based on the interests and passions of each child.

Fabiana Micozzi

Qualifications: Degree in Sociology and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education? I have always believed that working with young children was not only a vocation, but also a giving and receiving opportunity, a mutual exchange of personal growth and enrichment.
What makes me passionate about this job is to see how children learn from little things, playing and growing in their own “enchanted world” and me being part of it.

How long have you been working with children? 9 years here in Australia, 6 years in Italy

What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in childcare? Every day, since I have started working with children, has been a memorable moment for me.
As from Italian background, I will always remember the first time a child took me by hand and led me to play with him, not knowing what a ‘SLIDE’ in English could be!

Why do you believe your centre is an excellent choice for parents seeking the best childcare? I have been working at Asilo for the past 9 years. Since arriving in Australia Asilo welcomed me and made me feel accepted. What I always like to say to all my existing families and new ones enrolling, Asilo is more than a “day care”, Asilo a place to call home, where we love to build strong relationships with our children, to nurture a sense of acceptance and belonging.
The Italian culture is embedded in our program, daily routines and practices through a variety of learning experiences, interactions, songs and verbal communication which provides our children with the opportunity to learn a second language, extending their communication skills and creating a sense of involvement and belonging to a wider community.
Our educators are all very friendly, warm and loving so we believe the relationships they build with our children and families are very special.

Fun fact about you:  I love reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends. I am not an adventurous person, but I like surprises.
